TIBETAN TEAM TO PLAY IN SWITZERLAND AND GERMANY
7 July, 2001: The Tibetan national football team from the Tibetan National Football Association(TNFA) would be arriving at Horgen, Swiss on 8th July 2001. A Football match has been fixed on 8th July 2001 at 17:00 Hrs at Allmend Sportplatz, Horgen, Switzerland.
In their first match on 30 June 2001 at Copenhagen against Greenland, the Tibetan exiles lost 4-1. Earlier Tibet–widely seen as the underdog against Greenland’s well-structured squad–opened the scoring in the 12th minute. Forward Lobsang Norbu gunned the ball past Greenland goalie Rene Jensen, causing the 5,010 fans at Copenhagen’s suburban Vanloese stadium to roar.
