Zurich, Geneva: On the evening of 30 October 2025, the University of Zurich hosted a special event organised by the Tibetan Youth Association in Europe (TYAE) in collaboration with the Student Network Tibet (SNT). The gathering brought together young Tibetans and friends of Tibet from all over Switzerland to discuss spirituality, identity, and the relevance of Buddhist philosophy.
The event began at 6:30 PM with a welcome speech by Arya Amipa, co-president of TYAE, who highlighted the importance of preserving Tibetan culture and identity among the Tibetan Youth in the west. Following this, Kyabje Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche gave an introduction to Buddhism, drawing from personal experiences and encounters and thus conveying Buddhist core principles in a way which was easy to grasp for everybody in attendance. Rinpoche explained the meaning of true inner peace and furthermore elaborated how inner peace and happiness can change ones life altogether. His talk was translated into German by Lhazen Chhiring for all attendees.
A Q&A session followed, allowing participants to ask questions about Buddhist philosophy, personal growth, and applying spiritual values in daily life. The evening ended with a thank-you speech from Thösam, co-president of the Student Network Tibet.
The event was also attended by Thinlay Chukki, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Overall, the gathering successfully united spirituality, learning, and cultural pride.
