
Bengaluru: After concluding his engagements in the Tibetan settlements of Bylakuppe, Chief Election Commissioner Lobsang Yeshi arrived in Mysore on the evening of 23 October 2025 to continue his ongoing public outreach sessions related to the upcoming Tibetan general elections.
Upon his arrival, the Chief Election Commissioner met with around 50 Tibetan students studying at various colleges in Mysore at the Maha Bodhi School’s multipurpose hall. He addressed the students on the forthcoming 2026 Sikyong and 18th Tibetan Parliamentary elections, followed by an interactive Q&A session where he responded to their queries.
Later that night, the Chief Election Commissioner, accompanied by Additional Secretary Tenzin Norbu, departed for Bengaluru to continue their scheduled programmes the next day.
In Bengaluru, two election awareness talks were held on 24 October—the first at the Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education (DLIHE) and the second at Bangalore University.
The session at the Dalai Lama Institute was attended by around 150 participants, including teaching and non-teaching staff, students, and members of the Men-Tsee-Khang Sowa-Rigpa Medical College.
Later in the day, the Chief Election Commissioner visited the Chief Representative Office (CRO) of the South Zone in Koramangala. In the evening, he held another interactive session at Bangalore University for Tibetan college students and residents under the CRO’s jurisdiction. A total of 52 participants attended this session.
On 25 October, Chief Election Commissioner Lobsang Yeshi and Additional Secretary Tenzin Norbu departed for the Phuntsokling Tibetan Settlement in Odisha by flight to continue their outreach programmes.
