New Zealand government to hear plea on Middle Way Policy of Tibetans[Thursday, 7 April 2011, 2:43 p.m.]
DHARAMSHALA:
The Select Committee of Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade of New
Zealand will meet on Thursday 7th April 2011 at 10:00 am at Parliament
to hear from Thuten Kesang, Scoop Independent News reported.Thuten
Kesang, representing Friends of Tibet (NZ) and the Tibetan
Community,presented a petition to Parliament on 10 March 2011 through
Ms Sue Kedgley, the chairperson for Parliamentary Lobby Group for Tibet.The
petition requests the House of Representative to support the Middle-Way
Approach proposed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama to resolve the issue
of Tibet and bring about stability and co-existence between the Tibetan
and the Chinese peoples based on equality and mutual co-operation. Thuten
Kesang had expressed hope that the government would support his
petition and raise the issue with the Chinese government.
