
Taipei: On 10 October 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan hosted a grand reception at the Taipei Guest House to celebrate the 113th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
Upon the official invitation from Foreign Minister Lin Chia-Lung and Lin, Representative Bawa Kelsang Gyaltsen of the Office of Tibet in Taiwan and the Secretary attended the reception. They engaged with many important figures, introducing the urgent situation in Tibet and establishing connections.
The event’s main guests included the President of Tuvalu, Feleti Teo, along with his spouse, and Taiwan’s President Lai Ching-te, as well as the Premier, cabinet ministers, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, and members of parliament. Foreign ambassadors to Taiwan from the United States, Europe, Canada, and other nations were also present, alongside scholars and other prominent figures, bringing the total number of attendees to around 300.
The reception featured traditional Taiwanese and international dishes, musical performances, and opportunities for the distinguished guests to network and engage.
Previously on 4 October, the German Mission in Taiwan hosted a celebration of Germany’s reunification. Representative Bawa Kelsang Gyaltsen attended and connected with key Taiwanese officials, foreign ambassadors, scholars, and other prominent figures at the event. In separate meetings with ambassadors and deputy ambassadors, he discussed the Tibetan cause and carried out diplomatic engagements.
