
Nagpur: At 3 PM on 11 October 2024, a Tibet Support Group Meeting took place at the Lohia Study Center in Nagpur City. The dignitaries on the dais included Ashok Bondade, National Convener of the Samta Sainik Dal; Amruth Bansod, President of the India Tibet Friendship Society, Nagpur; Sandesh Meshram, ITFS Nagpur; Shri Arvind Nicose, Co-Convener of the Core Group for Tibetan Cause-India; Shri Rajkumar Kewal Ramani, President of the Bharat Tibet Sahyog Movement; Karma Lodoe Sangpo; Bhandara Tibetan Settlement Officer; and Tashi Dekyi, Acting Coordinator of ITCO. The meeting saw participation from over 40 members representing various organisations (RTWA, RTYC, Passang, Nagpur Tibetan Market Committee) and individual supporters of the Tibetan cause.
The Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India (CGTC-I) and ITCO jointly organised the meeting to improve coordination among Tibet Support Groups and follow up on the action plan set forth during the 7th All India Tibet Support Groups Conference. Invitations were extended to several other stakeholders to foster future collaborations and strengthen coordination in the region.
Tashi Dekyi, while representing ITCO, welcomed the participants and outlined the objectives of the meeting. She provided an update on the current situation in Tibet and developments within the Tibetan freedom movement. Additionally, she reviewed the key resolutions and action plans adopted at the 7th All India Tibet Support Groups Conference, urging members to take decisive steps for their implementation.
The meeting also included a review of recent activities conducted by Tibet Support Groups over the past few months, followed by discussions on upcoming initiatives aligned with the action plan from the 7th All India Conference. Participants shared valuable suggestions and feedback aimed at strengthening the Tibetan movement and improving coordination across the region in the coming years.
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the decision to establish a committee dedicated to organising events for the 90th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
