
Dharamshala: On 10 October 2024, five renowned professionals, including German oratory specialist Harry Fuhrmann, voice specialist Jean Francois Brion from Belgium, renowned orator and film actor Tenzin Dalha, and two young acting students from the “Conservatoire Royale de Brussels,” Lara and Lilli, completed an acting and voice training workshop for the teachers and artistes of the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA).
The workshop ran from 14 September to 14 October 2024. The Director of TIPA expressed heartfelt gratitude for their commitment by presenting them with traditional Tibetan scarves and gifts as a token of appreciation.
On 11 October, TIPA established a Drama Section/Company following the one-month course in Dramatic Arts. Sixteen outstanding artistes were selected by the trainers to join this newly created section. In the future, the Drama Section/Company will perform plays that focus on the social circumstances of Tibetans, both within Tibet and in exile, as well as their local customs.
TIPA extended appreciation to all the teachers and students for their hard work over the course of this workshop and congratulated the selected actors for their talent and creativity in developing new plays that reflect societal needs. Furthermore, special thanks are extended to the esteemed instructors for their consistent effort and guidance in establishing the first-ever Drama Section/Company at TIPA.
The Director of TIPA expressed gratitude to the Central Tibetan Administration, the USAID, and the Tibet Fund for the moral and financial support they extended to the workshop.
