New Documentary Film Launched by Office of Tibet in Taiwan

TAIPEI:
A new documentary film about experiences and accomplishments of the
Tibetan refugees during the past 50 years in exile was inaugurated by
Gaden Jangtse Khensur Rinpoche Lobsang Tsepel and Mr Dawa Tsering, the
Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

The
inauguration function was held at Chen Rey Sig Buddhist Center in
Tao-Yuan on the first day of the Tibetan New Year on 1 March. After the
inauguration Khensur Rinpoche led a special prayer with other 10 monks.
About 100 Tibetans and Taiwanese attended the function.

Representative
Dawa Tsering addressed the gathering by giving a brief introduction
about the documentary film. He further mentioned that the aim to bring
out this documentary film is to provide the international community
with the facts and true information about Tibetan refugees in exile and
also Tibet’s ancient religion, culture, and history.

documentary depicts the true stories of the Tibetan people’s anguish
at circumstances that forced them to leave their land and troubles in
finding their way through life as refugees in an unknown land. The film
also explores the accomplishments of Tibetan refugees in exile under
the dynamic leadership of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in the fields of
education, community-building and in preserving the culture and
identity of the Tibetan people.

Ren Di media of Taiwan did the production work and filming of this
documentary. Their crewmembers had visited the Tibetan communities in
India, Nepal, Switzerland and the United States for filming and
interview.

Representative
Dawa Tsering also thanked Khensur Rinpoche for allowing the Center’s
hall to organise the launching ceremony and other Tibetan functions and
meetings. Chenreysig center had also provided a free room to use as
office storeroom. Later the 90 minutes documentary film was screened at
Chenreysig Buddhist center.
