Tibetan Parliament Offers Condolences to Japan[Monday, 14 March 2011, 12:46 p.m.]

The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPiE) has expressed deep condolences
and prayers to the people affected by the massive earthquake and
tsunami in Japan.In a letter written to Japan’s Prime Minister
Naoto Kan on 13 March, TPiE speaker Penpa Tsering said: “The Tibetan
Parliament in Exile is deeply saddened by the devastating Earthquake
and Tsunami that has affected various parts of Japan especially the
prefecture of Miyagi resulting in the loss of thousands of precious
human life and caused immeasurable damage to properties.”The
Standing Committee of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile offers its deep
condolence to the surviving families and relatives and prays for their
swift recovery from this unprecedented tragedy,” the letter noted.
