Delhi: On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti and Lohri, Bharat Tibbat Samanvay Sangh (BTSS), a Tibet Support Group commemorated its Second Foundation Day, ‘Sthapana Diwas’ on 14 January 2023. BTSS chapters in different States of India celebrated the day with Tibetan brothers and sisters with great joy and enthusiasm. The office bearers and members of BTSS visited Tibetan Settlements near them and Tibetan Winter Sweater Market areas in different cities. They exchanged greetings offering scarves and sweets to Tibetan members and organising khichdi bhandara on the auspicious occasion strengthening the bonhomie between Indians and Tibetans. From Haryana to Karnataka and Gujarat to Assam, BTSS celebrated the day with various activities and programs.
In Delhi, BTSS – Northern Region celebrated the day at Sector 17, Dwarka, led by Smt. Sandhya Singh, President, Women’s Wing, BTSS – Northern Region. At her invitation, Program Officer Choney Tsering attended the program as a representative of the India Tibet Coordination Office (ITCO), New Delhi. Presenting the introductory address on occasion, Smt. Sandhya Singh expressed her hearty congratulations to all the members of BTSS. She offered her best wishes to all the office bearers and workers on the second founding anniversary of the organisation. She reiterated the purpose for which the organisation had been founded on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti on 14 January 2021. The aims and objectives of BTSS, as voiced by Smt. Sandhya Singh is 1) For the security of India, Tibet must be free from the illegal occupation of China, and 2) The Native place of Mahadev Shiv Shankar Shambhu, Kailash-Mansarovar, also encroached by China, must be free.
ITCO Program Officer Choney Tsering speaking on occasion, congratulated BTSS on its second founding anniversary. He appreciated the organisation’s hard work and determination in the fight for truth and justice in Tibet. He further extended his best wishes to all the office bearers and members of BTSS for their endeavours and hope for their continued support for Tibet.
BTSS National President Women’s Wing Smt. Namgyal Tsekey, Delhi Region Chief Coordinator Robin Sharma, Vice President Ravikant Sharma and other dignitaries also addressed the members on the occasion. The members resolved to work with full dedication and not to stop till Tibet is free from the evil clutches of China.
The members exchanged tilkoot and sweets while celebrating the auspicious occasion of Lohri and Makar Sankranti. An Indian cultural dance was presented by little kids and certificates were distributed to children who had participated in a drawing competition as part of BTSS foundation day program.
The foundation day program was followed by a discussion session on G-20 countries and India’s Cultural Message to the World. The session was hosted by Smt. Parul Gupta, Vice President, Women’s Wing, BTSS – Northern Region, briefed the members about G-20 countries and the importance of its discussion.
Shri Robin Sharma and Shri Ravikant Sharma addressed the members in detail about G-20 countries and the important role of India in the current presidency with its message of Vasudeva Kutumbakam – One Earth, One Family and One Future.
On occasion, BTSS – Northern Region had arranged a khichdi bhandara for the general public and lunch for all the members attending the program.
BTSS National Secretary Youth Shri Tejas Chaturvedi, State Vice President Youth Shri Ranveer Singh, Senior Social workers Dr Rajeev, Dr Deepak and Smt. Vandana, District Vice President Smt. Ashwina Gupta, Smt. Manjula, Smt. Anjana Dahiya, Smt. Sushma Bhandari, Smt. Preeti Mishra, Smt. Kanishka, Smt. Sadhna Devi, Smt. Manisha Sharma, Shri Mohammad Tariq, Shri Ajit Dubey, Shri Hemant Chauhan, Shri Deepak Thakur, Shri Rakesh Kumar Singh, Shri Saurabh Das, and other members of BTSS were also present on occasion.
