Washington DC: The Annual Board meeting of the Tibetan Community Development Fund ( TCDF) was held virtually last Saturday, 25 September. Representative Ngodup Tsering of Washington’s Office presided over the meeting of the board members appointed by CTA’s Kashag for a period of three years.
The TCDF is a non-profit organisation with 501 ( C) (3) status aimed to support the preservation of Tibetan Language, culture and religion and looking after the socio-economic well-being of the TRs among others. TCDF has organised several projects such as Tibetan Youth Leadership, Workshops for the Tibetan language Teachers of the Weekend Schools, and helped with fundings during the Covid.
Secretary Tashi Dhondup presented a report on activities/projects implemented by TCDF in the year 2020 while accountant Nyima Sangpo presented the financial statement and the budget. Members thoroughly discussed fundraising strategies.
The Board acknowledged the generous donations of $887,969.54 by Late Tsewang Topgay in his will. The Board agreed to create an Endowment Fund in the name of the late donor’s parents. The donation will be spent as desired by the donor for the destitute, disabled, and elderly and also, toward education, culture, and buddha-dharma.
Chair and Representative Ngodup delivered the concluding remarks and thanked everyone for their participation.
