9th Session of Tibetan Parliament from 8 – 20 March 2010[Thursday, 17 December 2009, 9:46 a.m.]
Dharamshala: The
9th session of the 14th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile will be convened
from 8 – 20 March 2010. The Members of Parliament have to report to the
Secretariat on 7 March, according to an announcement issued yesterday
by the Tibetan Parliamentary Secretariat.During the March
session, the lawmakers will discuss and approve the budget for the year
2010 – 2011 of seven departments and offices of the Central Tibetan
Administration.The Tibetan Parliament is the highest legislative organ of the exile polity.As of now, it has 43 members who represent the traditional provinces and religions of Tibet.The members are democratically elected by the Tibetan exiles above 18 years of age, from their respective constituencies.
