
BANGALORE: Home Kalon Ms Gyari Dolma, accompanied by Home Secretary Mr. Sonam T.Khorlatsang and Mr. Karma Damdul, Chief Representative, Bangalore paid a courtesy visit to Dr. G. Parameshwara, Minister, Department of Home, state government of Karnataka on 17 February.
Kalon greeted Dr. G. Parameshwara by offering traditional Tibetan khata and apprised him on the situation of Tibetan settlements in the state of Karnataka particularly on the education field of Tibetan students.Dr. G. Parameshwara reiterated the importance of education of younger generation.
This was followed by a meeting chaired by Kalon at 11.30 am, which was attended by Mr. Sonam T. Khorlatsang, Mr. Karma Damdul, 5 Tibetan Settlement Officers of Karnataka state & Presidents of TPACCS( Tibetan Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society) to discuss various issues related to implementation of Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy 2014 in the Tibetan settlements of Karnataka.
They also attended a meeting under the chairmanship of Mr. Arvind Jadhav, Chief Secretary of Karnataka Government in the evening at 5:30 pm. Kalon Gyari Dolma apprised him on the water &electricity problem, construction of Ring road and especially the urgent need of a road with 2km length leading to the Gaden Trithok Khang, the Residence and Office of the Head of Gelugpa School of Tibetan Buddhism in Mundgod. The Chief Secretary has graciously accepted to implement all the requisite proposals at the earliest.
After the meeting Kalon Gyari Dolma left for Delhi in the evening and Mr. Sonam T.Khorlatsang is currently on an official visit to Bylakuppe.
