3 Tibetans Among Those Killed in Dimapur Blasts
Dharamsala 4 October: Three Tibetans are among those who died in the twin explosions in Dimapur, Nagaland. Talking over the phone to Voice of Tibet radio service, Samdup,head of the Tibetan business community of Dimapur, said that the three unfortunate women are Tsering Dolkar, Phurbu Tsamchoe and Namgyal.

The Tibetan business community comprising of 85 families is in rude shock over the violent tragedy that took place on the 135th birthday of the Mahatma Gandhi, the epitome of peace.
Two blasts occurred in Dimapur on the fateful day of 2 October. The first explosion ripped off the Dimapur railway station at around 9 in the morning. Moments later, it was succeeded by another huge explosion at Manipur Complex in Hongkong Market. The three women died on the spot while 14 others have been seriously injured. The injured are being treated at the local hospital.
Samdup added that it is difficult to estimate the financial loss caused by the blast. But 23 shops, he said, were completely destroyed and about 40 shops have been damaged.
“The Tibetans here doing their best to provide all possible help to the Tibetan victims and their families.”
The three-storeyed building had shops on the ground and first floors and residences on the top floor. The Central Tibetan Administration has directed the Representative of Miao Choephel Ling Tibetan settlement to visit the area immediately. He had arrived in Dimapur. Joint Secretary Topgyal la of the Central Tibetan Administration’s Department of Home will leave for Dimapur this evening.
The Union Home Minister of India, Shivraj Patil and the Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio have visited the site and met with the Tibetans. They assured all possible help from the Centre and the state governments.
Representatives of the Tibetan business community had also been invited to a meeting held later in the evening yesterday, Samdup told the VOT.
