Workshop of the Health Department on disabled children

Dharamshala: The Department of Health of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) organised a workshop on disabled children yesterday in Gangkyi staff mess hall.
The keynote speaker at the workshop was Nicola Tanslay, advisor of the Ngoenga School for Tibetan Children based in Dekyiling Tibetan settlement in Dehradun.
Ngoenga School was established with the seed money donated by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It was the benevolent desire of His Holiness to provide a separate school for Tibetan handicapped children who are deprived of the education facilities owing to their physical and mental disability.
Nicola Tanslay said that our affirmative attitude and approach towards the disabled children is very important and it can contribute a lot in bringing changes in their behavior and deeds.
She also demonstrated the pictures of some children to highlight the positive changes that come in their action and behavior after joining the Ngoenga School.
Present at the workshop were Yusuf Naik, joint secretary of the Health Department and staff of the CTA.
