Dharamshala: Kunchok Migmar, Tibetan Settlement Officer of Dharamshala, formally welcomed Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukvinder Singh Sukhu, during the inauguration of Tong-Len Health Bus on 29 October 2024 at the circuit house.
During his interaction with the Chief Minister, Kunchok Migmar expressed sincere gratitude to the state government for its support of the Tibetan community for over half a century, particularly for those in Dharamshala.
To illustrate the Tibetan people’s appreciation, he shared a touching story: a young Indian girl who began begging on the streets of McLeod Ganj at just four years old. She was adopted by a compassionate Tibetan monk, who ensured she received an education, along with many others, at the Tong-Len charity school. Through hard work and dedication, she recently completed her MBBS, showcasing how the support she received not only transformed her life but also exemplifies the commitment of Tibetans to giving back to Indian society.
