Dharamshala: The Public Service Commission of the Central Tibetan Administration held the inaugural ceremony of its ten-day Financial Skill Training today for the Settlement Office Accountants at the Administrative Training Centre on 5 June 2023.
The session was presided by Secretary Tsering Yangkyi of the Public Service Commission, Joint Secretary Kunchok Wangdue of the Office of Auditor General, Under Secretary Chief Accountant Tenzin Namkha of the Department of Home, and Deputy Secretary Kalsang Sichoe of the Finance Department’s Budget Section.
Secretary Tsering Yangkyi said in her introductory address that the role of Accountants is importantly similar to a mother’s role in the family. She added that while the participants are graduates of different universities, the Accounts system of the CTA is unique and requires to be learnt accordingly.
She advised the attendees to be attentive, fully participate in the training and enquire whenever doubts arise to make full use of the efforts and funds contributed by the organisers and donors.
She also spoke of the responsibility of the CTA staff to promote and preserve the Tibetan language and culture in exile and highlighted the importance of valuing the democracy gifted by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The training was attended by 25 participants and 16 are expected to join next week. The USAID and NDI are funding this ten-day training.
