Dharamshala:  Sikyong Penpa Tsering inaugurated the Central Tibetan Administration’s renovated staff mess building this morning at Gangkyi premises on 24 May 2023.

Sikyong was joined by  Acting Chief Justice Karma Dadul and Interim Finance Secretary Tenzin Legdup. Secretaries and senior officials of the CTA also attended the inaugural ceremony.

Sikyong acknowledged the hard work of the CTA mess staff while stressing their responsibility to maintain hygiene and quality of food. He informed the gathering of the increase in the paycheck of the mess staff and said the decision regarding providing permanent employment to these staff was currently under review by Kashag.

Around 7 crores were spent on the planning and renovation of the building which also accommodates a gymnasium, shops for rent, recreational facility and parking space. The responsibility of accomplishing the project was shared between the Finance and Home Departments.
