Bodhgaya: Sikyong Penpa Tsering met and interacted with “Flame of Hope” activists through the arrangement of Earth Caravan organisation of Japan on 30 December.
In his interaction with the eight activists from the “Flame of Hope”, Sikyong introduced Secular Ethics, conceived by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and its goals elaborately. Furthermore, he said that currently it is being taught in schools and educational centres around the world. Similarly, he recommended translating and teaching SEE Learning in Japanese education institutions.
Sikyong briefly narrated the arrival of Tibetans into exile led by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the establishment of settlements and schools, the evolution of democracy, the significance of the three pillars of democracy and its responsibility and powers, following which he expressed his commitment to a peaceful world.
The activists of the Flame of Hope apprised the Sikyong of the objectives of the organisation and shared about their audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama while expressing their gratitude over it.
The flame of Flame of Hope was born from the embers of the bombing of Hiroshima in the August of 1945. Through the initiative of the Flame of Hope, it is hoped that it will spread the message of peace worldwide.
