Dharamshala: On behalf of the Central Tibetan Administration and the Tibetan people, Sikyong Penpa Tsering extended his sincere congratulations to Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, on his recent appointment as the Minister of Culture and Minister of Tourism.
Sikyong wrote, “On this occasion, I wish to express our deep gratitude to the Government of India and its people for the unwavering support and generosity extended to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan community across India. For Tibetans in Tibet, India is revered as the land of noble ones, and for those in exile, it has become a home away from home, where we have been able to preserve and practice our distinct culture, language, and heritage. We are particularly thankful to the Ministry of Culture for their longstanding support towards key institutions of Tibetan culture and arts in India. These institutions have been critical in strengthening the vibrancy of Tibetan culture and Buddhist scholarship.”
“As you are aware, His Holiness the Dalai Lama often refers to himself as a son of India in tribute to the profound influence of ancient Indian Nalanda tradition on his philosophical outlook. Today, His Holiness remains dedicated to reviving the ancient Indian knowledge for the betterment of humanity. We remain deeply grateful for the initiatives undertaken by both the central and state governments in support of these noble endeavours.”
“As we continue our centuries-old spiritual and cultural ties, I look forward to your continued support and cooperation towards His Holiness’s noble endeavours and enriching the vibrancy of Tibetan cultural and Buddhist traditions, which are deeply rooted in India’s rich heritage.”
Before concluding his letter, Sikyong extended his heartfelt wishes for a prosperous tenure ahead to the former Minister of Jal Shakti.
