Dharamshala: Sikyong Penpa Tsering of the Central Tibetan Administration wrote a letter to Nima Gyaltsen, a Tibetan resident from Calgary, Canada, to congratulate him on being appointed as a member of the ‘The Order of Canada’, the highest level of distinction award in the Canada.
Sikyong wrote, “On behalf of the Central Tibetan Administration, I am pleased to extend my heartfelt congratulations on your well-deserved recognition with the prestigious Order of Canada.”
“This honour underscores your exceptional contributions to advancing educational opportunities, particularly through your transformative leadership at the University of Calgary’s Schulich School of Engineering internship program. Your dedication has not only enriched the lives of countless young Canadians but also exemplified your enduring commitment to the Tibetan community and its aspirations.”
“As president of Project Tibet Society, your steadfast advocacy has been instrumental in the successful resettlement of over 1,000 Tibetans in Canada. Your leadership has not only improved their livelihoods but also bolstered the social and cultural resilience of the diaspora community and their political advocacy for Tibet.”
Sikyong added, “Your lifelong commitment to serving the vision of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan cause sets a powerful example of leadership within our movement. I am confident that the impact of your work will be even greater as the next generation of Tibetans follows in your footsteps. Once again, congratulations and Tashi Delek on this well-deserved honour.”
