The event was graced by dignitaries including Ven. Tenzin Thinley, the Abbot of Gadhen Choeling Monastery, Tibetan Settlement Officer Tenzin Samten, Deputy President of the Local Tibetan Assembly (LTA) Sonam Tsering, President of the Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement (RTFM), and other community leaders, monks, and lay members of the Shillong Tibetan community.

The program commenced with the singing of the Indian and Tibetan national anthems, followed by the traditional serving of Tibetan sweet rice and butter tea, customary for auspicious occasions in Tibetan tradition. The settlement officer then addressed the gathering, emphasising the significance of the Resolve Tibet Act in advancing the Tibetan freedom movement. He also briefly explained the importance of previous US legislation, such as the Tibet Policy Act 2002, the Reciprocal Access to Tibet Act 2018, the Tibet Policy and Support Act 2020, and the Resolve Tibet Act 2024.

Following this, the Abbot of Gadhen Choeling Monastery expressed gratitude to the US Government for their historic legislation and enduring support.

The program in Shillong concluded with a joyful Tibetan circle dance, symbolising unity and celebration among the community in honour of the enactment of the Resolve Tibet Act 2024.

In a separate celebration, members of the Dimapur Tibetan Community gathered at their community hall to mark the occasion. Led by RTFM President Wangchen Gonpo, Wanghuk from the Parents Association, and Regional Election Commission member Samdup Dorjee, they highlighted the significance of the Resolve Tibet Act in the context of the Sino-Tibet conflict. After cutting a cake, the event concluded with the traditional Tibetan circle dance, marking the joyous culmination of the celebration.
