Bengaluru: Chief Representative Officer (CRO) of the South Zone Jigme Tsultrim and Tibetan Settlement Officers (TSOs) of the five Tibetan Settlements in South India paid courtesy call on high ranking state officials of Karnataka from 5 to 7 October 2023.
The Settlement Officers of the five southern Tibetan settlements, namely Lugsung Samdupling, Bylakuppe; Dickyi Larsoe, Bylakuppe; Doeguling, Mundgod; Rabgyeling, Hunsur; and Dhondenling, Kollegal, were convened by the CRO to discuss issues concerning Karnataka State Government’s grant-in-aid for Tibetans and other related matters.
In conjunction with the meeting, the TSOs led by CRO Jigme Tsultrim paid a courtesy visit to Shri Rousung, the Assitant Director of Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) on 5 October, followed by a visit to Principal Secretary to Karnataka Government’s Revenue Department, IAS, Sri Rajender Kumar Kataria, and Director of the Minority Welfare Department, Shri Jilani. H. Mokashi, on the subsequent day. On 7 October, the Tibetan representatives called on Karnataka’s State Governor Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot. The visiting team also call private secretary of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) minister, Karnataka Government, in absence of the latter.
