Washington DC: Representative Ngodup Tsering, Office of Tibet, Washington DC attended the annual board meeting of the PeaceJam Foundation on 4 June. Due to COVID-19, this year’s meeting once again had to be virtual and more than three hour long. However, the officials were able to meet from the Denver office together as some COVID restrictions were lifted.
The mission of the Peacejam Foundation is to inspire a generation of peacemakers who will transform themselves, their local communities, and the world.
The PJ Foundation was established by Dawn Engle and Ivan Suvanjieff 25 years ago with advice and blessings from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The board members consist of Representatives of 13 Nobel Peace Laureates, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu, Shirin Ebadi and Jose Ramos-Horta. The board reviews the annual report, discusses accomplishments, and approves the plan and budget for the coming year. Among other things, the board discussed ways to celebrate the silver jubilee year of the foundation.
