Dharamshala: Tibetans in Rawangla led by the Rawangla Settlement Office marked the auspicious occasion of the 85th birthday of His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama with a mass plantation of 3500 trees and flower saplings across the settlement.
In keeping with the COVID-19 guidelines which restricts elaborate gatherings, the settlement office marked the occasion with a ceremonial prayer attended by the Chief Guest, members of Local Tibetan Assembly, representatives of Tibetan associations and mass plantation of the 3500 saplings.
Ravangla Settlement Officer and Members of Local Tibetan Assembly offered mandala and paid obeisance before the portrait of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, followed by the address of the Settlement Officer on the occasion.
Under the guidance of the Kashag, the Settlement Office organised mass plantation of 3500 trees and flower saplings across the settlement to mark the special occasion.
The initiative is also part of the CTA’s observance of ‘Year of Gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama’, a yearlong campaign dedicated to remembering the great benevolence of His Holiness towards the Tibetan people and repaying of our gratitude by taking part in initiatives to create awareness about His life and four principal commitments.
