Dharamshala: The Public Service Commission(PSC) successfully concluded the two-day Phase 1 Training of Trainer (ToT) program on Curriculum Design and Development at Hotel Lemon Tree, Satobri, Dharamshala, on 17 July 2024. The ToT witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 25 staff identified as potential trainers from different departments and autonomous bodies of the Central Tibetan Administration(CTA). PSC Secretary Tsering Yangkey informed that this ToT aimed to build self-reliance on training within the CTA. During the inaugural session, the NDI Chief of Party, Leela Mulukutla, said, “The ToT marks a significant step towards building a cadre of skilled trainers capable of driving positive change through well-designed and executed training programs”. The two-day sessions were led by Vivek Sharma, a Training expert and assisted by Pema Wangmo, Program Officer, both from the International City/ County Management Association(ICMA) with the support under the USAID-supported CTA-CBSI Project, being implemented by the National Democratic Institute (NDI).
The training emphasised the importance of effective training programs and introduced participants to essential training concepts. Key topics covered included the four stages of the training cycle and adult learning principles, ensuring trainers are well-equipped to meet diverse learning needs.
Through multiple training methods, participants delved deeply into crucial aspects of training, such as needs identification, planning, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. PSC Secretary, in the closing session, informed that Phase II of this ToT will be organised in
October 2024.
