Bhandara: On 5 November 2024, at 2:00 PM, a delegation from the Election Commission of India, comprising Representative PI Ramdinliani, Liaison Officer Pramila Jakhlekar, Tehsildar Aniruddha Kamble, and SHO Ganesh Kevanarey, paid homage to the Sera Jey Thekchenling Branch Monastery and the Ngagyur Nyingma Cheopheling Monastery in the Bhandara Norgyeling Tibetan Settlement.
Following their visit to the monasteries, the delegation was invited to the Tibetan settlement office, where a modest lunch was hosted in their honour. During the lunch, the officials were briefed on the origins of Buddhism in Tibet and the history of the Tibetan settlement in Bhandara, Maharashtra. Additionally, the settlement officer provided an overview of the Indian Government’s Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy, explaining the current situation and conditions related to the policy, and offered a detailed account of the local circumstances.
