Paris: In a brief ceremony held in  the presence of Representative Mr Tashi Phuntsok on 31 March, Mr Namgyal Samdup officially took charge of the Secretary of the Bureau du Tibet, Paris.

Mr Namgyal Samdup was born in Bylakuppe, India and has a Masters degree in Commerce. He has served in the Department of Finance, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) since 1999, and joined the Tibetan civil service in 2006. Before his transfer to the Bureau du Tibet, Paris Mr Namgyal Samdup served as the Chief Budget Officer of CTA.

Speaking at the occasion Representative Tashi Phuntsok from the Office of Tibet, Brussels who also oversees the Bureau du Tibet, Paris stressed on the collective responsibility of each Tibetan citizen towards realisation of our common goal.

As deputed  by Representative Tashi Phuntsok, the actual handing over and taking over of the charge of the Office was witnessed by Mr Thutop Namgyal, Secretary of Office of Tibet, Brussels. It was held from 29 – 31 March.

Mr Namgyal Samdup was greeted by executive members of the Tibetan community in France and representatives from different Tibetan local NGOs.

He replaced Mr Tsering Dhondup, who has been transferred to the Department of Security, CTA.
