Massachusetts Tibetan Association Appeals for US Senators’ Support to Tibetan Movement.
Washington DC: A few days ago, representatives from the Massachusetts Tibetan Association and Tibetan Parliamentarian from North America, Dhondup Tsering, paid a visit to staff of US Senator Edward Markey and US Senator Elizabeth Warren to seek their support for the Tibetan struggle.
President Tsultrim Kunsang of the Massachusetts Tibetan Association informed the Tibet office that they had requested the Senators’ support for the approval of the ‘Promoting a Resolution to the Tibet-China Dispute Act’. Additionally, they urged the Senators to issue a statement calling for the immediate release of Tibetans arrested for protesting the construction of the damming project in Dege, Kham. This was the primary objective of their meeting with the Senators’ staff.
This initiative comes ahead of the 65th Tibetan Uprising Day and in the wake of the arrests of the protesters of the damming project in Dege, Kham.
