23 September 2021, Shilllong: Following the meeting with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh in Tawang, Mr. Jigmey Tsultrim, Coordinator of India Tibet Coordination Office joined by Mr. Pema Dhondup, Tibetan Settlement Officer, called on the Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Shri M. S. Rao on Thursday, 23rd Sept. 2021 at the Main Secretariat Building, Shillong.
At the outset, the delegation offered the sacred khatak (Tibetan white scarf) along with a tashi tagye (Eight Auspicious Signs) wall hanging and a book to the Chief Secretary. Mr. Jigmey Tsultrim briefed the Chief Secretary about the Central Tibetan Administration and its role in looking after the welfare of Tibetans in exile and working for the Tibetan cause. He also shared with him on the generosity of the Government of India and its people for the last six decades to Tibetans led by His Holiness.
Mr. Jigmey Tsultrim also briefed the Chief Secretary upon the forthcoming visit of Hon’ble Sikyong Shri Penpa Tsering, President of the Central Tibetan Administration to the Northeast including Meghalaya. The Chief Secretary carefully listened to every word and assured that the State Government will extend all possible help and assistance during the visit of Hon’ble Sikyong to Shillong.
The delegation offered their gratitude and thanked the Chief Secretary for his time in spite of his busy schedule.
