Dharamshala: A brief summation of the COVID-19 precautionary measures undertaken by the Settlement office from May 26 to June 3, as follows:
On June 1, 7 residents of the settlement received INR 5000 each as one-time COVID-19 relief aid under the Central Tibetan Administration’s emergency aid policy.
On disbursal of emergency funds from the Home department of CTA to procure disinfectant and nutritious food supplies for the elderly in the Old People’s Homes, the Welfare office has distributed accordingly, byto all 20 of its elderly residents amounting to INR 30,000 worth of essential supplies, with the remaining funds to be used in a timely manner for procuring the necessities.
At the settlement’s quarantine centre, a student returnee who arrived from Bangalore on May 27 is currently residing there, prior to that 3 students from Vana Tsuklagkhang and 1 from Bangalore received swab tests under the guidance of branch hospital and their results are awaited.
On 29 and 30 May, the live-cast of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Avalokiteshvara empowerment was able to be viewed virtually by the residents of the Old People’s Homes.
On June 2, the settlement COVID-19 prevention committee and head-village leader gathered to discuss the guidance issued by the CTA and the directive from the Indian government on the 5th phase of lockdown till June 30 and especially, COVID-19 precautionary measures which were subsequently announced to the settlers.
