BYLAKUPPE: Secretary of Home Department, CTA Chhimey Rigzen accompanied by Chophel Thupten, Chief Representative, CTA South Zone visited Tibetan settlements: Lugsung Samdupling, Bylakuppe, Dicky Larsoe Tibetan settlement, Bylakuppe, Hunsur Rabgayling settlement and Doeguling settlement of Mundgod last week.
During the visit, Nangsi Secretary held various review meetings with the concerned Civil Engineer, architect and local CTA in-charge settlement officers on the ongoing projects such as new arrival Tibetan housing project; CTA retired officers housing project; development of Tibetan Organic Research Tibetan Centre, Bylakuppe. He also directed all concerned to speed-up the construction projects without further delay. Home Secretary later visited new old aged home construction project of Lugsam settlement and also few prosperous agricultural and dairy-based Tibetan individual families at Byakuppe.
Secretary and Chief Representative visited Rabgayling Tibetan settlement, Hunsur and held a Shung-mol meeting with Tibetan leaders. During the meeting, many issues such as drinking water scarcity land usage, solar fencing and elephant menace problem and promoting tourist destination of the settlement were discussed.
After that, Home Secretary and Chief Representative visited Doeguling Tibetan settlement, Mundgod. There Nangsi Secretary had a meeting with the new arrival Tibetan regarding the new arrival housing project and also had several meetings with the heads of various monasteries in Mundgod.
They later attended a public meeting where Nangsi Secretary distributed RTC (Right Tenancy Certificate) to Tibetan farmers in Mundgod. This RTC was handed over by Deputy Commissioner of Karwar District, Government of Karnataka to His Holiness the Dalai Lama during His Holiness’s last visit to Mundgod.
During the public meeting, the Settlement Officer of Mundgod, Chief Representative, CTA (South Zone and Chief Guest Nangsi Secretary spoke about the successful implementation of Govt. of India’s; Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy – 2014 in the settlement. Mundgod settlement is one of the first settlements, where the entire land was re-surveyed, the land lease agreement was signed between the Karnataka District Administration and CTRC and hence, the RTC was issued to Tibetan farmers.
This certificate will benefit Tibetan farmers to avail all State Government of Karnataka schemes and grants to Tibetan as well.
Nangsi Secretary left Bangalore for Dharamsala on 3 May.
