BOSTON: Kalon Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang, Department of Home, CTA arrived on his official visit to Boston on 1 July.
President of the Tibetan Association of Boston, Damdul T Sayatsang and members of Tibetan community received Kalon with traditional scarf and greetings.
He later gave a public address to over 100 Tibetans gathered.
On 5 July, Kalon visited the Office of Tibet in Washington DC, the International Campaign for Tibet and the Radio Free Asia bureau.
Kalon also had a brief meeting with Matteo Macacci, President of ICT, Vice President Bhuchung K Tsering at ICT office. During the meeting, they discussed the allocation of US fund in exile Tibetan community and spoke about the development projects that have been successfully completed and those in progress.
Kalon later addressed a large gathering of Tibetans from District of Colombia, Virginia & Maryland, speaking in-depth on Kashag’s Five Fifty Vision and its relevant projects in exile.
On 6 July, the auspicious occasion of the 83rd birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Kalon joined with hundreds of Tibetans and others well-wishers to celebrate the day.
Kalon is scheduled to visit Vermont, Amherst and Connecticut in the following days.
