DHARAMSHALA: His Holiness the Dalai Lama returned to Dharamshala today from a five-day visit to Jammu, J&K and Sarnath, UP. President Dr Lobsang Sangay, Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel and Kalon of Department of Security, CTA welcomed His Holiness the Dalai Lama on arrival at Kangra airport.
During his Jammu visit, His Holiness addressed the first convocation of the Central University of Jammu in Jammu, J&K. He was received by Minister for Cooperatives and Ladakh Affairs Chering Dorjay along with Advisor to the Chief Minister Professor Amitabh Mattoo on behalf of the Chief Minister.
On 19 March, His Holiness inaugurated the 92nd Annual General Meet of Association of Indian Universities, an annual convention of vice chancellors and directors of over 100 Indian universities.
He also chaired an interactive seminar on Secular ethics for the 21st century with the distinguished panel of vice chancellors on the second day. In an expression of their commitment to His Holiness’ secular ethics initiatives, the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) pledged to institute a centre for secular ethics in all the hundred universities across the country.
