DHARAMSHALA: The Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA), the premier institute for Tibet’s cultural dance, theater and opera, on Monday organised a grand cultural show for a European Parliamentary Delegation led by three MEPs.
The delegation comprising of MEP Thomas Mann, MEP Csaba Sogor and MEP Ramon Tremosa are on a six-day visit to Dharamshala.
President Dr Lobsang Sangay, CTA accompanied the delegation at the cultural show.
Director Wangdu Tsering Phesur, TIPA greeted the delegation with traditional Tibetan scarves, Khatak.
Artistes and members of the Institute presented traditional Tibetan dances and folk songs.
After the delightful performances, Kashag hosted a reception dinner in honour of the European parliamentary delegation.
The delegation has also visited Central Tibetan Administration, Tibetan parliamentary secretariat, Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute, Tibet Museum, Tibetan Children’s Village and interacted with various Non-Governmental Organisations in Dharamshala.
They received a private audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Wednesday.
The parliamentary delegation is accompanied by Mr Aleix Sarri Camargo, Ms Payola Lahoz, Assistant to MEP Tremosa and spouses of MEP Sogor and MEP Tremosa. The visit is being facilitated by Representative Tashi Phuntsok, Office of Tibet, Brussels.
