Dharamshala: Terminology Section of the Department of Education, CTA concludes its Tibetan terminology awareness campaign to Tibetan settlements, schools, colleges and monasteries in West Bengal on 16 May.
A week-long campaign carried out by the section’s staff Uma Thrinley and Tenzin Rabgey kicked off on 9 May.
In the first half of the initial day, the two gathered with teachers and students of Sambhota Tibetan School (STS) in Sonada followed by getting together with residents of Sonada Tashiling settlement in the afternoon to illuminate the participants about the significance of terminology, standardising process, numbers of standardised terms and published books, and additonally the desk’s outreach awareness to educational institutions and public though power point presentation.
The visitors further assembled tutors and pupils from STS Darjeeling, representatives from Manjushree Center of Tibetan Culture, representatives from various Tibetan institutions and administrations in the region, and Tibetan settlers of Darjeeling on 10 May.
On 12 May, the two met STS Kalimpong, the standing committee of ITBCI School and Tibetans in Kalimpong, and consecutively with Chagpori Tibetan Medical Institute and Ewam nunnery on 13 and 15 May, respectively, before wrapping up the outreach at Sed-Gyued Monastery on 16 May.
