Dharamshala: President of Central Tibetan Administration, Dr Lobsang Sangay today addressed over 60 students, artistes and instructors of Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA) based in Dharamshala.

The hour-long talk centered on revitalising the premiere institute of Tibetan arts and culture, particularly developing infrastructure to further the progress of the institute.

The Tibetan performing arts symbolises the essence of Tibetan identity and culture, said President Dr Sangay. “Over the years, TIPA has stepped up efforts to not only preserve Tibetan art and culture but promoting its beauty at global platforms. CTA takes immense pride in your success and affirm to extend our utmost support to carry forward the vision,” said President Dr Sangay.

The president congratulated TIPA administration for successfully harnessing and honing the skills of young Tibetan artists. He also thanked all members of the institute—former and present—who have committed themselves towards keeping Tibetan art and culture alive.

Other matters discussed were: TIPA’s 60th founding anniversary in 2019, participation of TIPA in the conference on world culture and the construction of new auditorium.
