Kalon Ven Karma Gelek Yuthok of Department of Religion and Culture addressing ‘The 2nd Inter- Gelug Monastic School Intellectual Aptitude Competition’ organised by Sera Jey Secondary School.

Dharamshala: Kalon Ven Karma Gelek Yuthok of Department of Religion and Culture attended ‘The 2nd Inter- Gelug Monastic School Intellectual Aptitude Competition’ organised by Sera Jey Secondary School as the Chief Guest. The event is part of Commemoration of 600th Parinirvana Year of the Great Lama Tsongkhapa as the International Year of Tsongkhapa on 20 October 2019.

Abbot of Sera Jey Monastery Logoan Tulku Tenzin Jampa Choesang read out the message from His Holiness the Dalai Lama, followed by messages from Kabje Ganden Tri Rinpoche, Ganden Shartse Choeje and Jangtse Choeje.

Kalon paid his homage to the messages from His Holiness the Dalai Lama and others read by the Abbot and mentioned that one should also follow the teachings of Tsongkhapa earnestly besides just celebrating the day.

After the inaugural ceremony of the event, a debate regarding the biography of Tsongkhapa was held. Monks of different monasteries participated in the debate.

Kalon Ven. Karma Gelek Yuthok visited the classrooms, library and science lab of the school during his visit to Sera Jey.
