Mainpat: Under the Building Back Compact Community (BBCC) project of the Department of Home (CTA), housing plots were allocated to 54 families at Phendeling Tibetan Settlement in Mainpat.
A total of 63 families had initially chosen the Phendeling Tibetan Settlement under the BBCC project. However, 3 families withdrew, and 6 families failed to attend the plot distribution.
The three-day process began on 28 November 2024, with the team reviewing beneficiary documents and inspecting the housing project site. On 29 November, 54 beneficiaries attended an introductory meeting led by the Department of Home BBCC team and the Settlement Officer’s team. During this meeting, the teams briefed the beneficiaries about the project and the housing plans. The beneficiaries were also given a tour of the settlement, particularly the project sites.
On 30 November, the beneficiaries were introduced to their designated housing plots. The teams announced that construction of 11 houses would begin this year, with additional construction contingent upon contractor efficiency. The beneficiaries were encouraged to actively participate during the construction phase.
The teams included CTA officials: Tenzin Kunsang, Ngodup Waser, Dolma Chonzom, Tenzin Tenpa, Settlement Officer Tsewang Yangtso, and regional Sakhang Vice President Phurbu, along with TSO staff and camp leaders.
