Antwerp: Advocacy Officer Tenzin Phuntsok from the Bureau du Tibet in Brussels attended a workshop in Antwerp on 29 June 2024 to raise awareness among a group of 28 Tibetan youths on Central Tibetan Administration and its policy of Middle Way Approach. It also included discussions on Tibet advocacy and campaign organisation.
The workshop was organised by Belgium-based regional Global Tibetan People’s Movement for Middle Way Approach.
The director of the Global Tibetan People’s Movement for Middle Way Approach of Belgium, Tsering Dhondup, informed the audience about the objectives of this workshop in his introductory address and encouraged younger generations to intensify their active participation in Tibet advocacy.
Following the introductory remarks, Advocacy Officer Tenzin Phuntsok spoke about the evolution of the Central Tibetan Administration since its inception and its current status, along with a brief introduction about the Bureau du Tibet (also called Office of Tibet), Belgium, and its responsibilities. Thereafter, the Advocacy Officer delved into the significance of the Middle Way Approach, which was followed by a Q&A session with the participants.
In addition, a young participant representing the regional V-TAG introduced the group and briefed the gathering on its undertakings thus far in Belgium. He further implored other youngsters to join the group.
Before concluding the event, Secretary of the regional Global Tibetan People’s Movement for Middle Way Approach spoke about the responsibilities that younger generations shoulder and urged the gathering to uphold their unique identity as Tibetans.
