Round table discussion on 11th Panchen Lama organised by ITFA and TSO Dharamshala held at HPTDC, Club House, Mcleod Ganj, Dharamshala

Dharamshala: A round table discussion on the occasion of the 30th birth anniversary of 11th Panchen Lama was held on 29 June, organised by the Indo Tibetan Friendship Association and Tibetan settlement office Dharamshala at HPTDC, Club House, Mcleodganj.

The discussion was attended by around 22 participants led by Mr. Ram Swaroop, Advisor, ITFA Dharamshala. Among the participants were, Mr. Kunga Tsering, Vice President of ITFA and settlement officer, Mr. Subash Nehria, Advisor, ITFA Dharamshala, and other Executive Members including Mrs. Dolma, Coordinator, ITFA and Mr. Kunchok Migmar, Staff of Tibetan Settlement Office. Representatives of Other Tibetan non-governmental organisations were also present. Ms. Dukten Kyi, Human Right Desk, Department of Information and International Relation was the key speaker of the event.

The wide-ranging topic of discussions were held ranging from 10th Panchen Lama’s mysterious death and 11th Panchen Lama’s selection, forced disappearance, effort from various Tibetan office and organisations to find the forcibly disappeared 11th Panchen Lama Gedhun Choekyi Nyima to the recent forensic sketch of 11th Panchen Lama by a forensic specialist that was telecasted on BBC News.

The 11th Panchen Lama Gedhun Choekyi Nyima was recognized by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama is respected by all the Tibetans inside and outside Tibetan and the elected11th Panchen Lama Gyaltsen Norbu by the Chinese government is often referred as the fake Panchen Lama by the Tibetans.
