Dharamsala: Tsultrim Gyatso has been appointed as new Chinese Liaison Officer at Office of Tibet, Washington, DC, according to a circular issued by Kashag today.
In accordance with the rules of the Public Service Commission, the appointment of new Liaison officer will take effect from 8 October 2018 on the basis of special appointment for a year.
Born in Tibet, Tsultrim Gyatso has nearly a decade-long experience in Sino-Tibet relations. Since 2010, he has been an active member in a series of Sino-Tibetan conference and exchanges. He has participated in the first and second Bridge Conference for Chinese and Tibetans in New York 2010, the second conference was presided by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Conference on Democratic China and Future of Tibet with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Conference of His Holiness with Chinese and Tibetan students at Hunter College in 2012, Sino-Tibet friendship gatherings and events, Dialogue with His Holiness the Dalai Lama with Chinese students in NY in 2014, Finding Common Ground, International conference of Sino-Tibetan Friendship Associations in 2016, 5th annual Chinese liaison officers of CTA IN 2017, First International conference on Middle Way, Dharamsala in 2018. In 2016, Tsultrim was the main coordinator for inviting Chen Pokong and Dr Ming Xia at the 10th March commemoration event in NY. He is also a member of Chinese Students Coordinators of Global Tibetan People’s Movement for Middle Way Approach.
Mr Gyatso graduated from Baruch College, CUNY, New York in 2014, Grover Cleveland High School in 2008, TCV School Suja in 2006 and Lhasa Middle School Number One in 2002.
