Chicago: Representative Ngodup Tsering, Office of Tibet, DC attended the 2nd World Hindu Congress on 7 September.

The second World Hindu Congress, attended by 2,500 Hindus from 60 countries was held at the Westin Lombard York Town Center, Chicago.

On 8 September, Representative participated in an expert panel discussion of Hindu Political Conference and World Hindu Democratic Forum. He drew the attention of the panel towards the environmental exploitation and excessive damming on Tibetan rivers. He warned that the health of Tibetan plateau can impact the whole of Asia and west as well.

After his participation at the conference, Representative visited the local Tibetan community in Chicago. Representative also met the members of Local Chicago Tibetan Association.

In his meeting with the local community, Representative spoke on the unity of the Tibetan people as paramount to success of the Tibetan movement. He encouraged them to explore effective collaborative avenues in preserving Tibetan language, culture and identity.
