Tibetan Parliamentary delegation presenting souvenir to Canadian MPs

Ottawa, June 12: The Tibetan parliamentarian Mingyur Dorjee, Tenpa Yarphel, and Pema Chagzoetsang called on MP Dave Vankesteren and Parliamentarian Dhondup Tashi, Namgyal Dolkar and Tsewang Rigzin has met with MP Garnett Genuis, Co-Chair of Parliamentary Friends of Tibet Canada and member of Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development.

They have briefed the MPs of all range of issues concerning Tibet especially on the Human right situation in Tibet and presented detail accounts of human right abuses committed by the Chinese Government and requested them to support the resumption of dialogue between envoys of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and representative of Chinese Government.

After the morning engagement, Parliamentary Friends of Tibet (PFT) Canada hosted lunch reception for CTA president Dr Lobsang Sangay and the Tibetan parliament members at the Parliament dinning and thereafter, the Tibetan parliamentary delegations attended Question Period in the main parliament building where PFT members raised strong voice about Tibet in the floor of the house.

The Tibetan Parliamentary delegation also joined Dr. Sangay before the Canadian Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development.

In the evening the delegation attended Thank You Canada event which was attended by Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage , Dr. Sangay, Canadian MPs, Representative Ngodup Tsering, Presidents of Tibetan Associations and Tibet support groups.
