MANALI: Kullu–Manali Tibetan Settlement Office and Tibetan community residing in Kullu District organised a Multi-Cultural Event at Rambagh Auditorium, Manali on Wednesday. The event is part of the yearlong Thank you India 2018 programme initiated by the Central Tibetan Administration to honour the unparalleled support and hospitality extended by the Indian government and its people.
Shri Sunny Sharma-H.A.S. Assistant Commissioner to DC, Kullu graced the event as Chief Guest where as Shri Ravi Thakur, former MLA of Lahaul & Spiti and Shri Sher Singh DSP, Manali as Special Guest of event along with Ven Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, Deputy Speaker of Tibetan Parliament in Exile, Dharamshala as Guest of Honour for Multi-Cultural event.
Other Indian dignitaries included Professor Mr Tashi Paljor, Patron of Tibet Support Group, President and members of Tibet Support Group, Principal and administrators of local Indian school, local Indian Panchayat and Pradhans etc.
The event was held at central hub of Manali, Rambagh Auditorium at the peak of tourist season. The event was well received by cheerful local Indians, Tibetans and throngs of tourists from across India.
The program began with an auspicious prayers offered by monks of Von Ngari Monastery, Manali followed by numbers of various cultural performances by Sambhota Tibetan School, Manali and Tibetan community in Kullu-District.
Deputy Speaker of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, Achary Yeshi Phuntsok felicitated Chief Guest and Special Guest of event with the Thank you India 2018 mementos, Calendar and T-Shirt. Mementos for all Indian dignitaries are being offered to symbolise gratitude for the profound support they have rendered towards Tibetan people since coming to exile.
