Tibetan settlement officer of Shillong Pema Dhondup with office secretary Tsering Dorjee call on Governor Shri Ganga Prasad of Meghalaya on 11 May 2018.

SHILLONG: On behalf of Tibetan Settlement Office, Shillong, Settlement Officer, Mr. Pema Dhondup, accompanied by Office Secretary, Mr. Tsering Dorjee made a courtesy call to the Honourable Governor of Meghalaya, Shri Ganga Prasad at his office on May 11, 2018 at 10:30 am.

Settlement Officer, Mr. Pema Dhondup greeted the Governor by offering Tibetan traditional scarf and also presented Thank You India 2018 Calendar. He briefed the Governor that CTA is observing a yearlong Thank You India event 2018 across India. As a part of Thank You India event 2018, the Tibetan Settlement Office and the Tibetan community, Shillong, would observe said event on the occasion of the 83rd birthday of H H the Dalai Lama on July 6, 2018 and requested His Excellency to be the Chief Guest.

He also apprised about the critical situation unfolding in Tibet with more than 152 self immolations and requested the Governor to support the middle way approach in resolving the issue Tibet peacefully.

The Settlement Officer thanked the Government of India & its great people for their unparalleled support and hospitality to the Tibetan people.
