DHARAMSHALA: The Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR), Central Tibetan Administration hosted its fifth annual dinner reception for journalists at Hotel Dauladhar yesterday.

Thirty-one Indian and Tibetan journalists from leading news agencies including local bureau chiefs and reporters of Divya Himachal, Hindustan Times, ANI, TVnews100, Dainik Bhaskar, Dainik Jagran, as well as editors and reporters from Tibetan media such as VOT, VOA, RFA,Tibet Post International, Tibet Times, Tibet Express, Phayul, etc attended the reception.

The two secretaries of the department – Mr Sonam Norbu Dagpo and Ms Dhardon Sharling – also attended the event.

The dinner reception for local media is an annual event organised by the Department to affirm closer interaction between Tibetan and Indian journalists, and particularly with the Central Tibetan Administration. It is also a recognition of media’s immense contribution towards creating awareness in society.
