AMSTERDAM, Holland: Representative Tashi Phuntsok, Bureau du Tibet, Brussels met with Committee members of Tibetan Community in Amsterdam, Holland on 1 December. The meeting discussed main activities of the community in the forthcoming months.

While reminding the meeting that the Tibetans should be at the forefront of our global campaign, he told them the effective ways forthcoming March 10 could be observed.

He also called upon plans for 2018 ‘Thank You Year’. He advised the ways it could be meaningfully incorporated in many of the community’s activities. In facilitating convenient collection of green book payment he informed them that soon Tenzin Lekhey, Accountant of the Office would visit Holland. Similar visits to Tibetan communities have taken place recently to Antwerp, Ostende in Belgium and Barcelona in Spain.

The President, the Vice President and In Charge of Culture of the Tibetan Community of the Netherlands were present in the meeting with the Representative, accompanied by Secretary Thutop. Tsering Jampa of ICT Europe also attended the meeting at the invitation of the Representative as Tibetan Community and ICT collaborate in their activities.

The current meeting with Tibetan Community Committee members by the Representative was combined with the concluding days of the four-member Tibetan parliamentary delegation to Europe, led by Dolma Tsering. It may be recalled that the visit was organised by the International Campaign for Tibet, Europe. However, the Bureau du Tibet collaborated with ICT from its planning last year until its conclusion recently, in order to facilitate an effective and meaningful advocacy.

While the delegation was in Belgium the Representative and Rigzin C. Genkhang, EU Advocacy Office accompanied the delegation in their programme. In France, Namgyal Samdup, Secretary of Bureau du Tibet, Paris and EU Advocacy Officer facilitated all the programme. Thutop Namgyal, Secretary of Bureau du Tibet was with the delegation in the Netherlands.
