Tibetan devotees and followers welcome His Holiness the Dalai Lama as he returns to Dharamshala, 23 January 2017.

DHARAMSHALA: The Tibetan spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama returned to Dharamshala today to a warm welcome by hundreds of Tibetans and devotees who awaited his return with flowers and traditional Tibetan scarves.

On his arrival at the Gaggal Airport, His Holiness was received by Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay, Speaker of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile Khenpo Sonam Tenphel and officials of Central Tibetan Administration.

Following the successful completion of the 34th Kalachakra at Bodh Gaya, His Holiness led a series of talks and discussion at New Delhi, enroute to Dharamshala.

On 21 January, His Holiness gave a talk on the Power of Compassion to the Ladies Wing of the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FICCI). In the afternoon, His Holiness visited Mother’s International School and addressed over thousands of students and staff on “Ethic and Happiness”. This is the second visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the previous visit was held in 1994.

On 22 January, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Professor Richard Davidson, the William James and Vilas Professor of Psychology and Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison jointly met with more than 500 enthusiast Tibetan college students at the Tibetan Youth Hostel in Delhi. Tibetan students in attendance were from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Amity University, Indraprastha University, Delhi University and nursing students from various medical institutions in Delhi.

His Holiness’ upcoming schedule include a public talk on Reviving Indian Wisdom in Contemporary India at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi on 5 February. The talk is organised by Vidyaloke, an Indian wisdom initiative that aspires to rekindle the Indian legacy of wisdom, intellectual and spiritual curiosity.

On 12 March, His Holiness will give a short teaching from the Jataka Tales at the Main Temple Tsuglagkhang.
