DHARAMSHALA: Kalon Dolma Gyari of the Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration, inspected the ongoing construction site “Home Residence for Human Right Victims & Tibetan Welfare Office Staff Quarter” on 13 December. The ongoing 16-room residential building which is under construction at Jogiwara Road is dedicated for the ex-political prisoners to rehabilitate them with standard living shelters.
The under-construction building is also aimed to provide safe and clean living quarters for the staff of Mcleod Ganj Tibetan Welfare Office. The staff of the Welfare Office are currently living in rented accommodations in and around villages near McLeod Ganj. “This will be a morale booster for the staff members responsible for local Tibetans’ welfare in Dharamsala,” an official from Home department said.
The project is sponsored by Vimala Association, Italy.
The construction project started on 1 October 2014 and will be complete by 1 February, 2016.
On 14 January, Home Kalon met with Tibetan Girls’ Football Team from 8 different schools under Tibetan National Sports Association (TNSA) after a month-long football training camp at TCV Chauntra.
